A Peaceful Ride

Last night I was on the bus for three and a half hours

returning home from a visit with family.

I wish I had my camera with me

but it was stored under the bus

with all the other luggage.

The moon lit up the night sky,

shining so brightly that you could see the yellow

of the wheat fields bouncing off the little bit of snow

that was laying in the fields.

The moon would slip behind a cloud

and suddenly appear seeming to keep pace with the bus.

It was so peaceful, was the moon just for me?

No it was way too beautiful

to not be admired from others that stole a moment

from the hustle and bustle of everyday life,

to breathe in the gift of a moon

I sat and watched, silent in my own stillness,

and I smiled.

The moon carried me all the way home.

Dream A little Dream......

I love this quote.

One thing I have found is that daily your dreams

for what you want can change,

no matter what your dream it is neither too big or

Too small.

When I got sick back in 2003 my dreams changed for me.

It was overnight basically that I went from dreaming of travelling,

driving a better vehicle, a career, etc

to dreaming of being able to walk around the block,

or to dream of staying up more than 3 hours.

I used to dream for my future

until my future caught up with me,

Basically waving and saying Hey Lady

life is going to be different.

So I dream of being the best I can for each day.

Last night I said to my husband,

'I just want to wake up with some energy,"

and Today I did.

whoo hooo,

it feels wonderful,

the sun feels great,

the smell of coffee brewing,

my dog snoring at my feet,

the sound of birds singing outside,

laundry getting done,

me packing to go see my Mom on Friday.

Do you dream for today or do you dream for the

tomorrows?

I still have dreams for my future,

such as skydiving when I am 50.

In two years, yes it might be possible,

I won't be crushed if not,

but I would find a new dream,

something symbolic for that time.

I think with an illness you focus more on the now,

on the present and being present in the day,

and you become so thankful for things

that you would have taken for granted before.

I am thankful for the neurologist

that identified my illness,

I am thankful that God provided me with enough

strength to meet my illness head on.

I am thankful for research and support groups,

I am thankful for understanding now

what a disability is,

for understanding that I am not alone,

for being Thankful that I have made so much progress,

for being thankful that this is not life threatening.,

and for the understanding

of whom I am,

of what I have become,

and for right now today,

I am Enough!

This dream is real, this dream is mine,

and I am holding on tightly.

A Snowy Weekend!

You would never know that my world

was pretty white over the weekend.

It snowed and snowed,

and then for fun snowed some more.

I had not been out of the house for two days,

so was surprised on Saturday evening

when hubby and I went out to shovel snow.

There were no steps that I could see

and I fell off the steps,

did not hurt myself because I just fell

into the softest white fluffiest snow ever.

It was light to shovel it

and I had the rosiest cheeks ever.

Nothing like a cold snap

to feel the life in you.

Brrrr.

Hot Chocolate

marshmallows,

yum!

And today the sun came out and danced on my walls.

I have been doing artwork on paint this weekend.

I like the look of these ones I did.

A brief encounter, Way Bigger Up Close!

The other night I go on facebook

and I see this picture of my nephew

with this eagle.

I had to look twice,

First of all I thought

Good Lord if your not careful

he will have your guts for garters.

Apparently the eagle had a broken neck.

My nephew called the Conservation Officers

and they came and picked it up.

I was very saddened by this encounter and know that

my nephew would have been devastated.

He is such a bird lover,

when my Dad died I got all of his bird books.

I gave some to my nephew as well as a bird feeder

that was his Grandpas.

One summer when I was visiting them

when they lived on Vancouver Island,

at the end of the road down towards the sea

there was an Eagles nest.

Everyday we would see them flying in all their glory

as well as hear them.

I remember swimming in the ocean watching the eagles

fly overhead, me just floating on my back

watching. them.

That really was one of my best days.

Funny how I had not thought about that for years.

Other days I would just walk to the beach

and sit on a big rock and watch them.

They had a captive audience with me.

I wonder now if they are still there

in their nest high in the trees.

Maybe I will get back there one day.

If I am so blessed.

It Feels Wonderful!

Today is Family Day

in Alberta.

Hubby has the day off,

I feel very content today to be just as I am,

to know in my heart that

I am Enough.

I am very fortunate to have Family,

to be able to love and be loved.

Family is not just the immediate family,

but all the individuals that you surround yourself with.

So to my friends here in blog land,

to my little extended family,

I thank you for your visits,

for your friendship.

Blessings come to us in all different ways.

That There Them Dang Varmits!

Hi All,

I saw the above pic a while back on Pinterest

and being an Artsy Fartsy type

I thought how cool is that!

Well the following is a true story,

and I hope nobody ever holds this against me.

My house has been Invaded by The Cheese snatching

little rascally thieves that they are.

Hard enough for any sane person to handle

let alone someone with Cataplexy.

When I was diagnosed with Cataplexy

I noticed shortly after that that I had a

drastic improvement in my hearing.

So today I am sitting in the Computer room,

and I hear Scratching from my Kitchen Cupboard,

I instantly tense up because I had just washed down

the inside two days ago.

I get on a chair, I take a deep breath and on the inside

is a wicker shelf that I can see a tail below.

I thought to myself Oh how am I going to get it.

Thinking ah.just reach out and grab him by the tail

as if I thought to myself.

Poof Cataplexy girl has fallen off the chair

and is laying on the floor, just because I had that one thought

that struck me funny and down I went.

So after about a minute I can get back up as the Cataplexy

episode subsides. As I am getting up I notice the cat

looking at me, like what the heck is wrong with you.

I thought to myself darn cat should be doing her job.

Now Brave Cinner gets back up on the chair as I have

to to see the-great big(tiny mouse)

Slowly I raise my head up higher and higher,

now I know the mouse is there so I should not be

startled which would trigger another Cataplexy episode,

so I am being very cautious,

My eyes come just above the cupboard

and the great big (tiny mouse)

lunges at my head as fast as the speed of light.

I duck, I scream....picture me with my mouth open

so wide that all you can see are my tonsils, and when

I screamed I startled myself, poof down I go again.

As I lay there on the floor I am thinking

how in the Heck am I supposed to catch

these darn things, see one mouse had already

escalated to a herd of mice.

Anyhow mouse was not stupid because

no where was it to be found

So now I am sore from falling twice,

not hurt just sore.

So now my mind is thinking, how am I going to catch the mouse,

first thought I will put cheese in the cupboard

lure it back and put an old tupperware

container over it until hubby gets back.,

yes that is what I would do.

Two days ago we had put out the sticky traps that you can buy,

so far no luck.

Anyway I get myself back up off the floor

and the cat comes flying past me and ran right over my foot,

then jumps in the air and jumps on a spot on the carpet.

I scream and down I go again.

Of course I thought it was the great big tiny mouse.

The cat is playing with a string.

Now I am getting frustrated and I started to cry.

I don't know what I was crying at, the fact that I just had

three Cataplexy episodes, or that the great big tiny mouse

had just beaten me to a pulp and never even touched me yet.

Once I got myself up I knew how tired I was, because I only

ever have these when I am tired.....so I knew no more standing for me

for the day. I opened the stove drawer, the cupboard doors,

and I came and sat on the Computer chair,

If I see it again I will wait for hubby to get it, obviously

I am not qualified to get the evil critter.

The thing is this is not the first little critter lately,

but I have to admit I am at about my wits end

and just when I think we have gotten them all,

another one shows up.

If I could just learn not to have any change in emotions

there would be no more falling,

I fall when I laugh, when I am startled, loud noises,

bright lights can trigger it too.

thats why I spend a lot of time sitting down,

then my head only slumps forward

So the moral of this story is

I will never have mouse stickers or decals

anywhere in my house.

I still think it is cute but in my life

it could be dangerous.

I hope you all have a great weekend,

I guess you know what is on for my weekend.

It is a good thing I am persistant.

I can hear the truck out front,

I will leave them in hubbys hands.

Now it is nap time.

Busy Week, Almost A Divorce!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for the Valentine's Day Wishes,

I don/t know what has happened to the week,

It has just flown by.

I had 3 appointments on Monday,

one on Tuesday, and am off to another one in about

a half an hour.

I have to say our Valentines day was

an absolute disaster this year.

Yes we love one another,

we were both so tired,

him from working, me from my appointments,

and visiting his Mom that is now home from

the hospital. She is doing great.

85 and can hardly wait to get back

on the golf course.

We managed to have a late supper here,

and by the grace of God and our sense of humors

we are not headed towards Divorce Court.

LOL.

(unless I am being served papers that I don't know about)

I should not even joke about such things,

all I can say is communication is key!

I still can't believe that sometimes

we are unable to read each others mind.

How is that possible?

So I am hoping you are all having a great week.

Will catch up with you all soon

and remember we can celebrate

Valentines any day of the year.

The importance of Candles in My Life, and I love Me Some Crystals!

Usually every night I also light

my candles and watch the flickering,

feel the peaceful tranquility,

the stress of the day fallen from my shoulders,

laying in invisible blankets at my feet.

I love candles,

not only are they beautiful,

but you would be surprised how much

warmth they provide,

imagine this,

the weather was minus 35 at Christmas

one year, I had gone home for Christmas

at the farm, on the way back to the city

after Christmas a severe storm and the

transmission was blown.

I still remember the clunk, clunk.

If not for an abundance of candles

I would not be here today,

that and the kindness of a stranger.

Of all the vehicles that passed,

only one stopped,

an elderly man, I know he and the candles

saved my life that day.

He took a chance just pulling off the road,

it was almost a complete white out.

To me he was an angel sent by God.

I remember trying to light the candles

with hands that were already becoming numb,

and the joy when I lit the candle,

Instant relief.

I very seldom every made that trip in winter

again as I am sure one can understand.

I chuckle as I write this

remembering all the times

my Dad would say to make sure your

prepared, blankets, candles, matches, food, etc.

Thank God he taught me well.

Here is another crystal I have in the front room,

all the crystals are from a Chandelier from my Great Aunt

so every time I see them I think of her.

The framework of the chandelier

is damaged so I am using them this way.

I have put some of the crystals on

other candle holders too.

I love them and they bring me

enjoyment.

my house is quite eclectic,

but it works for me!

The Four Candles

The Four Candles burned slowly. Their ambiance was so soft you could hear them speak...

The first candle said, "I Am Peace, but these days, nobody wants to keep me lit." Then Peace's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.

The second candle says, "I Am Faith, but these days, I am no longer indispensable." Then Faith's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.

Sadly the third candle spoke, "I Am Love and I haven't the strength to stay lit any longer." "People put me aside and don't understand my importance. They even forget to love those who are nearest to them." And waiting no longer, Love goes out completely.

Suddenly a child enters the room and sees the three candles no longer burning. The child begins to cry, "Why are you not burning? You are supposed to stay lit until the end."

Then the Fourth Candle spoke gently to the little boy, "Don't be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn, we can re-light the other candles."

With shining eyes the child took the candle of Hope and lit the other three candles.

With the candle of Hope we can bring Peace, Faith, and Love back in our lives. (Author Unknown)

I took some time for Me....Artwork and Editing!

Here is some art work that I finally did

on Sunday. The flowers are all made

out of paint chip samples. that I glued onto a canvas

that I had painted in antique white,

Then I did some pastels on the background,

some highlighting on the flowers and leaves,

and then added some cut out butterflies

that had been sent to me by a friend in a beautiful card.

I was thrilled to be able to use them on here.

It seems to have reinforced that Spring is not too far off.

February the month of love,

I prefer a year of love myself.

This photo was a picture of a tea light

that I took a while ago,

Some of you may have seen it before.

It still amazes me that it was heart shaped.

Yesterday was a great day,

went and visited MIL and she was doing fabulous,

so hopefully will be coming home soon.

Then Wain and I went for a late lunch

and we ran into a friend we have not seen

in about four years. So we had an awesome visit.

He is almost 58 and has been going to University

part time since he was about twenty,

He has such a thirst for knowledge.

We used to go Karaoke all the time,

and both of us do a great rendition

of CCR songs,

oh I can hear it now in my head.

LOL.

then off we went to Canadian Tire

to buy some stuff for the house,

always maintenance to do,

Super Bowl is on this afternoon,

so none will be done today,

........

Through these Eyes.

As I have visited your blogs,

Many times I have been amazed at what I see or read.

I am amazed by the many talented individuals,

creating, crafting,dedicated to their choice of art.

I have seen the most beautiful photography

capturing moments making cherished memories.

I am able to recognize certain photographers

instantly by a jumping shot, or softness in their work,

or minimalist design.

Through my eyes I have been able to read poetry

that has made me gasp with an unsuspected ending,

surprised at the stories one can tell in 55 words.

Through these eyes I have read stories of

individual struggles with cancer and I am in awe

at how they fight their battles with such grace and dignity.

At times I have sometimes felt as if any words I could

say were insufficient. Through these eyes I have learned

that somehow most of us are very similar,

kind, caring, and loving individuals,

Most of us know the real meaning of life,

and that it is the little things in life that are most important,

family, friends, loving, kindness, understanding and gratitude.

Through these eyes I have been blessed

to learn from every one of you.

I have seen and read of places I have never been,

of people I may never meet but yet I feel I know them.

Through these eyes, through your blogs

I am reminded every day of the goodness in the world,

and all the opportunities we have,

I have learned that no two of us are the same,

and that even in our differences there is knowledge

and compassion and above all else regardless

of religion, cultures, different countries,

friendship knows no boundaries.

I started blogging at a time in my life

when I was very very isolated

due to an illness,

and whether you know

it or not

I believe we all have a little angel in us,

and some of us unknowingly

don't realize how we can affect others around us.

Trust me you do,

most of us want to really make a difference in the world,

and some of us think when will that happen.

There is a very good chance

you already have!

Sometimes what does not seem like a big thing to us

may be the biggest thing to someone else!

life is amazing.

Through these eyes

nothing is impossible,

not now, not ever!

February Song

February and the sun is shining

intently through my windows today.

Brewed coffee, the smell of clean laundry,

birds singing at the back door,

my dog laying in the snow feeling the warmth of the sun

on his old bones.

I smiled as I looked through the window

and could feel his contentment,

I knocked on the window,

he lifted his head,

and lay it back on the ground,

It was enough for him to know I was there,

but not enough to get him running to me.

I thought of how different he was when he was a pup,

he would have been all over me like

gravy on mashed potatoes with excitement.

Whats that saying Let sleeping dogs ...

Time to throw the next load of laundry

into the wash,

Just playing around with some editing today.

I had so much else to do but I was

feeling a little tired,

so after I went for a haircut

and out to lunch with a friend,

I just putzed.

It was just that kind of day.

From a previous Spring.

It is supposed to be a beautiful day on Sunday,

Going visiting friends, seeing my GodChild,

walking the dog, visiting at the hospital.

and that should wear me out for the rest of the day.

Buster, The Penthouse, and a Good Run

A beautiful winters day, or is it?

Buster, the Siberian Husky could really care less,

as long as he gets to explore and run.

This road used to have trees on each side,

and we would drive down the road

on our bikes and pick

Saskatoon berries that would hang

in clumps on the trees in the Summer.

In the Winter we would take the

snow mobiles out for a run

often causing our Dad to be upset with us

for making him worry

as we had no regard for keeping track of time.

Buster, my fathers dog still goes on

pretty much the same run everyday,

except now he goes alone,

and I really feel in my heart

that he still looks for my Dad.

What a loyal friend he was.

I love to watch Buster run.

Every once in a while he would catch scent

of something and would be sidetracked for

a while, or would start digging a hole,

or go for a swim.

It is so good to see an animal free.

It is easy to see why such a dog are great sled dogs,

They live to run, they are beautiful to watch.

This is Buster after about a 5 mile run.

He is such a beautiful animal.

Here is Busters hotel, He likes the luxury penthouse.

He lives on the farm with my brother now,

They have to keep him on a chain at night,

otherwise Buster is off on another adventure.

Check this dog out on the video below,

to watch them just makes my heart feel good.

This has to be pure bliss to a Siberian Husky,

probably that and a big ole bone,

Remember enjoy life and the beauty that surrounds you.

Ducky, Mucky and Lucky.........

These pictures are from one of our trips to Canmore,

I know I have showed some of them before.

butt it made me happy just looking at the pics

so I thought I would share again.

These ducks come right up to see you,

so many people around that they have become

quite tame. I like watching how they interact with

one another.

This is one of my favorite photos I have taken.

The male ducks are so beautiful up close

with their bright green heads,

some of their feathers have beautiful bright purple and blue colors.

After I spent three visits with the ducks on the same day.

The weather had turned to this.

The snow was as beautiful, and made me quickly

forget the ducks. we headed home for fear of bad weather

and getting snowed in in the mountains.

This weekend time was spent visiting in the hospital,

a special lady recovering from back surgery.

Hubby went to visit twice today and she was sleeping

both times, He sat and read the newspaper.

When he came home he said how good it was to see

her sleeping peacefully, so when she wakes up

she won't know that her son had been there twice.

The love of flowers!

About this time in January of every year

I start missing my flowers and the happiness

that I get from them.

One of my sisters loves gardening as much as I.

The above pic was taken at her place.

The above hibiscus is another one of her

favorites. This plant has gone from my house

to hers and now is back at mine.

It's like the Sisterhood of the travelling Hibiscus.

These pics are meant to bring you some

sunshine today just because.

We will have many sunny days ahead,

even in this crazy weather

For any of you whom have never had

snow or been in minus 30 or minus 40

weather, sometimes when you walk outside

it can be so bright that it is almost blinding.

The majority of us wear polarized sunglasses to help

protect our eyes from the glare off the snow.

I can already tell the days are starting to get a little longer,

and my house does not feel quite as cold as yesterday,

I have probably just adjusted though.

Freezing My Glass Off!.

Minus 30 with windchill minus 40

The view from my office

Heeelloooooo,

Is anybody out there?

If only it was not about

20.000 to replace

all the windows in this 100

year old home.

Only the windows facing North are

Iced Over.

So what do we do in minus 40 weather

Well I started my day making Cookie Monsters

on my window,

then I proceeded to get a coffee,

there is no time for sipping coffee,

you have to gulp it down

if you want it warm,

a hot cup of coffee is an unknown concept

here in Frosty Land,

see no steaming coffee here,

and there is no time for reading newspapers

in the water closet,

no siree, it is get in and get out,

For fun today we see if we can see our breath

and we try to capture it on camera,

and well the dog going outside

well lets just say it is time consuming

first we have to get him dressed,

then we have to convince him to get off the couch,

then we have to tell him,

Oh your a lucky boy,

you get to go outside,

just be careful or you may freeze to a snowbank,

Oh your such a good boy,

you'' get a treat when you come in,

and all the while you know he

is thinking you go take a pee outside

if you think it is so much fun

and I will give you a treat,

I won't drool on the couch,

because I am not leaving here all day.

Lucky dog, my barking glass,

And look what one of the humans is doing today,

He is not getting out of bed or out of his pjs,

a day off, a do nothing day.

Cinner we are not moving,

in fact this is your story

leave me alone,

My fuzzy pink slippers and my flannel pjs.

and you jump into bed into flannel blankets,

but dare not roll over because flannel sticks to flannel

almost like velcro...

in case you ever need to know that.

the other thing about this old house

is the old porcelain tub,

you can fill it with hot water,

but the tub itself never warms up

I am not joking, so no lingering baths here either,

and because the sides of me touch the sides of the tub,

the only way you can stay warm is to flop like a fish on it's side,

and well thats just more info than you need to know.

So yes living in the great White North has its difficulties,

and I know if another Canadian reads this,

I will be called a Wimp,

so just saying that will be

Mrs. Wimp to you.,

Gotta run and dive back into bed,

on my mark 1. 2. 3 ready go.

Sense of Humor and Laughter

I saw this on pintterest today

and as I was reading it I expected it to say,

If at first you don't succeed, try try again.

I laughed so hard I ended up on the floor

due to a Cataplexy episode

triggered by laughter.

Note to self....get a chair with arms for the office.

Note to self...May have to reconsider Skydiving.

Gee Cinner you think!

So here I was thinking,

I'm outdoorsy

and a whole bunch of reasons came to mind,

However getting drunk on patios was not

one of them,

Whoa hang on Cinner,

I so have to learn to control my emotions.

Note to self....Figure out how to stop laughing.

Yeah right, as if.

You know the sad thing is

I know people like this.

I rolled on the floor with this one,

had to pace myself, ha.

Once I walked into a glass building

and then I shut the door behind me.

Ha, had you going!

People need to know this,

Now I know why my sister and her two boys

always leave it empty.

it has nothing to do with a conspiracy against me

They are just worried about brain damage.

Don't you just love it when the dots all come together

and things finally make sense.

I never thought about this one,

Note to self......invent a fridge that only opens in the daytime,

I guess I could just unplug mine at night.

Speaking of brain damage, what!

How about this saying

Now I have been in this situation

where someone uses such big words

and I am not saying I am dumb,

but I know when I have to look up words

in the dictionary after I have visited with

someone, that maybe just maybe we

need to tone things down a bit.

You know this past week I did something I had put off

for 28 years and I thoroughly enjoyed it and it felt so

good.....Oh my Lord what are you thinking?

No I have been married twice that is not what I am talking about.

Virginiaty, now I can't even spell right.

No, no, no.....

I joined a Weight Loss Therapy class.

Yes I did for the first time.

Do you think I procrastinated!

28 years, yes I would say so.

I was nervous, it was the first time

since I have had Cataplexy

that I have been without someone with me,

amd I had about eight Cataplexy from laughing,

Thank God I was sitting in a chair with arms and

the others were informed as to what it is.

no not the chairs the people

so all was good.

First time going out alone since 2003.

I do have a good joke for the next class though

Yes I think I will tell this one,

it will be good for a laugh.

This makes me wonder what happened before

and will it happen again, and why did it happen in the

first place, and were the police called, and was this

anyone I know and does it have to do with

all the snow we got today..........

I often wonder what babies

really think...this made me laugh

sOME cONFusion

I woke this morning to the howling of the wind

ripping around my old house,

I looked outside and we had just a skiff of snow,

but a brutal wind seemed to be blowing that away,

that's okay with me although I do feel sorry for

anyone on the roads especially the big trucks,

talk about timing, no horses but a truck,

Hubby always laughs, he says I could miss a barn,

he is usually right, I always say he speeds up on me

when I am taking them as a passenger,

that and the excuse that my batteries were dying.

Ha fooled him, I love this old barn,

who says I can't get a barn I tell him,

He laughs and says usually you.

I have been known to miss a plane in the sky,

I am not the most coordinated person,

so sometimes planes look like this.

At least I got something metal though,

Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose,

but I do love to try,

need to add a better camera

to My Bucket List.

Color my World Wonderful Today!

The sun is shining brightly today

and with it comes a bright outlook for the day.

We were away to my Moms over the holidays.

We all had a wonderful time, laughed until we cried,

cried until we laughed, watched movies, hung out,

and we never stopped talking.

I told my Mother she is a hoot n a half,

she seems to blossom right before our eyes

gaining confidence and a new life in the big city.

Here is one of my favorite pictures from the drive there.

This was one of the areas where there is still snow on the ground,

We really have to look around to find it.

We have been so fortunate this winter.

A chinook blew in when I was at my Moms,

the warm wind from the mountains,

I was worried the windmill in the back yard was

going to fly off it was spinning so fast.

I had visions of it flying through the air,

I told this to Mom and she said,

well it better not come through the window,

I just got new blinds......

I was worried it would fly off and kill someone.

I have been playing with editing some of my photos

and for whatever reason want to paint every room in my house

bright, bright, bright,

but I have mistaken myself for someone whom has lots of energy.

So one thing at a time.

Hubby is cooking brunch as I sit here typing,

drinking coffee and listening to the birds.

So what ever you do today,

I hope it is wonderful, what a gift to be alive,

what a gift to have choices and opportunities,

I am in an amazing mood today and I hope you are too.

Happy New Year! A Wonderful Memory

Soon many of you will be attending fireworks

all over the world.

I remember taking long walks, walking

with thousands of people edging further up the hill

to find the perfect spot.

The anticipation of being able to see them soon,

the sounds of the oooing and awwing as one after another

the fireworks would light up the sky

in vast arrays of colors,

all the while being serenaded by the whoosh and the pop

echoing in the background,

one firework more brilliant than the last,

The huge build up to the end,

faster, faster, brighter and brighter.

It seemed the people left as fast as they arrived.

Some were hanging back so they did not have to beat

the crowds, holding hands embracing their loved one,

truly a romantic night.

This is a memory from over nine years ago,

the last time I have seen real fireworks.

I can remember it as if it were yesterday

No matter how you celebrate the new year,

remember all the many blessing of 2011

and I pray 2012 brings you

I hope you all had a fabulous Holiday.

We awoke Christmas Day

with hardly any snow, a little in the yards,

but the sidewalks and the streets are bare

unless your on a side street where there is a bit and some ice.

Last year at the same time we were already sick of shoveling snow.

We were surrounded by family and had a wonderful day.

The dinner was wonderful and I ate too much and I think I liked it.

It was not a day to be counting calories,

I don't know if I can count that high, lol.

So the day was full of laughter, great food, an afternoon nap.

I had asked hubby for some makeup for Christmas,

I predict in my future

December 23, Amazing SunRise, A Lot To Be Happy About

December 23, early morning sunset.

These pictures were taken through my back door.

they are in for a good washing in the Spring.

I did not go outside as I was not even out of my pj's.

The colors in the sky seemed like fire in contrast of

the white snow on the housetops.

Seems like getting a bit closer, the bright colors going higher in the sky,

I was so glad I got to see this, two days before Christmas.

On most years I could look out my window and would be able

to see the picture perfect huge snow flakes falling. To me it is always

special when it snows on Christmas Day,

The fire of the sky is slowly turning to pinks paling in comparison,

but somehow making the transition as glorious,

Was this a Christmas blessing, I think so, it reminded me that

we never know what will come along, or whom will come along,

just enjoy as much of lifes gifts the best we can.

My Treasures

One of my favorite things to do at Christmas

is going through my decorations and remembering

whom gave me the decoration and those special moments

with that person. They are my little treasures.

I spent a few Christmas's with this friend.

She and her family were very kind to me.

They even made me a homemade stocking

which I was overwhelmed by.

sorry about them being sideways but you can still

get the idea. I love this little angel. she is made out of an

old light bulb. she makes me smile. She was given to

me by my SIL.

The cross stitch picture was made by a friend of

mine Dianne, I have received 12 from her. I love

them all. One of our friends has 28 from her.

The little mouse was given to me by my first

Mother In Law. She is now 93.

She had ornaments that she had given me that

just recently had fallen apart from age. They were

probably at least 100 years old. I cried about those.

I knew how important they were to her so I treasured

them when she gave them to me.

I have 3 of the pearl beaded bells, These I bought in a

thrift store, and on my MIL's tree she has 3 that

were made from my husbands

late Aunt, they are pink and beautiful

and treasured by my MIL as much as I treasure mine.

These are some clear glass bulbs I made a few years

ago. just put some beads and wire, the odd snowflake

and I love them because I made them with a friend.

More memories.

This little fellow is the cutest little thing I ever saw,

a friend of mine Judy made it and two others to

the set, handmade and well that just made me tear up.

This small ornamental tree I made in 2006,

that is all we had for decorations that year.

I had not been well that year but I put this out

every year to remind me how much better I am doing now.

and how thrilling it is to be able to get out all my decorations.

This picture is sideways again. I have crystal

that I have hung in my front window. I received them

from my late Great Aunt, I took this picture looking

through the window. You should see the prisms

bouncing around my room from all the crystals.

I love them.

I thought I would share some of my little treasures with you,

to me they are irreplaceable, they are cherished.

I gently pack and unpack them year to year,

and within each one resides memories of love,

and friendship, times shared together,

Christmas dinners eaten together,

sharing this with you, somehow my heart feels full.

I am truly blessed.

One way to Get A Tree!

We had a busy day,

a busy few days,

You know the weather has been beautiful here,

well what I call beautiful here in Canada for this time of year.

So far I have only had to shovel snow once.

Today we had a 60 foot pine tree removed from our

front yard. I was amazed at how quickly it was taken down.

It was dying from the bottom, but it sure brightens things

for us.

When the guys topped the tree, what a loud thunderous

noise, and I breathed a sigh of relief as it did not

hit the house, or take down the fence,

but it did fill the whole yard.

And I did not get any pictures....

what was I thinking, I missed a perfect

opportunity, oh well.

......

earlier in the week

I saw the doctor to discuss

Gastric Bypass Surgery, or the Lap band,

But I am not a candidate for it.

I am relieved too, I knew I needed to change

my habits first. It is a really good program

and there is a lot of work that goes on

before you even get to see the doctor.

I have been doing very well on my own,

so I am just going to continue doing

what I am doing.

All Christmas decorations are up,

still have a few gifts to wrap,

but otherwise I am all ready for Christmas,

and the Christmas blues have left my house.

lol

Tonight I am as tired as my old dog,

and I know it won't be long before

I am as fast asleep as he.

I had just wanted to touch base

and say hello,

Should I Tell Anybody?

So first I have to tell you I was kissed by Toby Keith,

and I think I liked it and I did not even have to leave the house.

all I remember in my dream I met him and I told him

I loved his music, he kissed me on the hand,

and then on the cheek, and I remember

thinking what a gentleman he was.

Now where in the heck do these dreams come from,

one only knows other than we were listening to

PBS and hubby and I were talking about deep voices.

The show was all on the sixties music and I remembered

every song. They say if you remember the sixties

you really were not there.

I was born in 1963, but that is the music I grew up on.

And a deep voice, swoon.

I am a gonner for Josh Turner.

Yes it is true,

oh he has a voice to die for.

I wonder where that expression came from!

My first husband had a deep voice,

My Current, Second and Final Husband

has a deeper voice and

can sing Conway Twitty and George Jones

like no tomorrow.

We also said last night that someday there will

be elderly people sitting around remembering

hip hop as their golden oldies,

Times they are a changing.

Isn't it great that we live in a time

where we have free will and choices,

and that life offers such a variety in almost

everything.

Pine trees or Artificial.........editing and remembering

Playing around editing,

a bunch of tall thin pine trees

remembering the days when real ones blessed our house

every Christmas.

There are so many beautiful trees and we have opted for

artificial, but one can never forget the smell of pine trees

when the needles are soft to touch.

It reminds me of a vase of flowers,

you may not notice the scent

until you leave a room and walk back in,

and they are exhilarating.

I look at the picture above and I just feel magic,

and possibilities. It makes me want to go hiking

and see over the first hill.

While editing this pic I was reminded of the day

we ventured down the Old Banff Road in a snowstorm,

It was so beautiful,

There were no other cars on the road.

The header picture up top was taken that day.

I remember we rolled down our windows

and the cool fresh air was so exhilerating.

We joked about being all alone in the wilderness.

It was a perfect morning.

I have had many perfect moments

and a lot have been due to these great

wonderful gifts we find in the nature that surrounds

us every day.

It is supposed to get to plus four tomorrow.

It will be a great day for a walk.

Felt like a Bunch of Birds on a Wire.

Yesterday I had a 3 hour class

for a PreDiabetic Course

which is mainly a class on how to help

yourself from not getting Diabetes.

or how to Keep It in Control

before having to take medications or insulin.

So I have been waiting quite awhile,

Hubby took the day off, a Stat Day,

we made our way paid 15.00 dollars

for the parking and then we walked

and walked around the hospital

trying to find where the class was.

No problem we finally find the room,

and there are about 30 of us waiting.

Some have driven in from a six hour drive,

most had taken the day off work.

I had been feeling good in the morning

so I had not taken my cane with me,

I usually have it if I am going to be doing alot of walking

or standing, I was getting very tired,

finally I got a chair from another room that had another class.

Relief at last....so to make a long story short.

We had all been sent out letters for yesterdays class

to be told there was an error in the letter, and

that we should have all shown up the day before.

%^&*()xyzwtf,

The lady at the information desk said we all must have gotten in wrong,

Was she kidding us, So after waiting for over an hour,

we finally left, we were told we would all get a phone call

about it, no they would get a phone call from all of us....

So what does Hubby say on the way out,

Well let's go for lunch,

We had met some very nice people in line, everyone

wished each other well and off we went to lunch.

I did not make the healthiest of choices,

but it tasted so good.

The waitress told us that someone

had paid for our lunch,

we assumed it was the owner

because we frequent the establlishment quite a lot.

But no, a man walked by us

and Wished Us A Merry Christmas and said

Your lunch is paid for.

That is the first time that has ever happened to us

where a total stranger has done that,

We have done that on occassion,

it felt very odd to be on the recieving end

of it, Hubby told him we would pay it forward,

we all had a nice chit chat and then he was gone.

He left a good feeling in my heart.

We went home and spent the rest of the day

together which was very nice.

So today I am going to do some

research on diabetes and inform

myself as much as possible.

It will be better than the information

I learned yesterday.

Lol.

The Many Sides of Me

Well we had a great weekend, went today to finish putting up

MIL'S decorations. Everyone had a good chuckle at my

new hat, but I wore it anyway because I love it.

I don't know I feel like a bad asse in it.

To bug them I wore it backwards too,

we all had fun and they all finally gave up

because Cinner was having her own fun today.

I painted my nails red and white like Candy Canes,

donned a bunch of my silver jewelry,

painted my toes glitter pink, gltter green, and glitter blue.

Hubby told me my toes looked like M & M's.

For lunch I ate fresh pineapple,

It was so good, yummers.

I fooled around with some editing on

Picnik.com.

This one looks like a pencil drawing

which is kind of cool.

Of course had to try some of their Christmas

textures

and

one last one, This one was posterizing

and I would love to have my name

on it one day.

Dreamer, Dreamer,

so I turned my mood around,

drove hubby crazy with my throwing snow at him.

I finally settled down and watch Erin Brokovich on tv

tonight. I love Julia Roberts in it. I had watched it before,

but I enjoyed it as much the second time around.

The Face is Gone! and Having Faith!

I have shown this picture before about a year ago,

While editing pictures the other day

I was shocked to see how much it had changed

in just one year.

There is not even a face there anymore.

I love old buildings, barn, houses,

yes always even loved older men too.

Just saying, something about age and weathering

that appeals to me

......

Today I ventured out in the snow,

went for lunch with a friend,

mmmm popcorn shrimp,

bought new flannel pjs

and fuzzy slippers

hubby went for a shave,

and now I am going to have a nap.

watch hockey on tv tonight.

Jones had a hat trick last night,

that was exciting!

Tonight I am going to just be

with the Christmas lights on

maybe sipping hot chocolate.

Life lately has been a little up and down

for me surprising how sometimes

the season can bring out the blues,

I think only because I miss my Dad.

the last thing he ever said to us

was how thrilled he was to have us all home

for Christmas and to get that turkey in the oven.

That was in May of 2009.

I am glad his last thoughts were good ones

but man I (we) sure all miss him this time of year.

I miss his weathered hands and tanned skin

from farming all those years,

his messy hair, Mom would comb it for him

and then he would mess it up again to

bug her. One year for Christmas he put

a rotten potato in his stocking and

all us kids thought it was so

funny....we all figured he had really been

a bad boy that year.

ha, our memories are important,

and I know we will continue on and make

new ones without him. I hope this is not a downer for

you, it is not meant to be,

I do know I am off for that nap right now

and I will feel better when I wake up.

Good Monday Morning Everyone,

We had such a lovely weekend

weather wise, oh I enjoyed it.

Just walked around in my yard

in just a long sleeve shirt,

oh my,,,, of course I had pants and shoes,

where were you going for a moment there?

Got all my Christmas decorations up

thanks to the help of Hubby.

We have a crawl space in our house

with a trap door in the floor and if it were not for

Hubby well I would never be able to get

anything out every again.

So it lifted my spirits as I had been feeling

just a bit unsettled,

I guess we all miss our loved ones at the

strangest of times, anyway I feel good this morning

so I am grateful for that.

The video below touched my heart,

I am a horse lover and on my Bucket List

is to own a horse, but first on that list is

to get an acreage so I can have a horse.

Love works in the strangest of ways.

Reminds me of a quote of Mother Theresa's

that went something like this

That there are more people in this world dying from lonliness

than there are people dying from starvation. I have never forgotten that,

how easy is it just to reach out to someone and show a little love.

The Weekend!

The Weekend!

I so look forward when my husband is home.

He came home after work and told me we have truck trouble,

oil leaking severely, so he has to find a mechanic open tomorrow.

So I will be at home alone until he gets it fixed.

I could go with him,

but I would get too tired waiting around so I am best to stay

and see if we can't do something when it is fixed.

I started putting up a few Christmas decorations today,

and will do some tomorrow.

Next weekend we are going to my MILs to do her

Christmas decorations and tree for her.

She is 85 and waiting to have back surgery.

She is in such pain and of course the list

is very long, she phones every week to see if

she gets closer to the top.

I hope she does not have too long of a wait,

She had it done 3 years ago and before that 18 years earlier.

if it was not for her back she would be in excellent shape...

Other than that this week I had a night at the sleep clinic,

they had to increase the oxygen on my CPAP machine,

and now I am sleeping really well most nights.

I have been working in my craft room, organizing, decluttering

and doing project out of toilet paper rolls.

I have to charge my camera and then will take pictures to show you.

Though I am in a country where we have already celebrated.

Things on My Mind!

So our cold snap is supposed to break today.

I did have to venture out and spent about

two and a half hours shoveling snow,

not fast mind you and I do have some weight

behind me so Cinner as a snowdozer

works not so shabby when you are in dire need.

catch up on a few things as pertains to the household errands,

not interesting enough to talk about.

I worked on a toilet paper roll project for all my paints,

brushes, and pens. It is turning out quite nicely and what a space saver

it is. So I guess I am doing my part on recycling toilet paper rolls.

I cooked a pot roast on the weekend, minus the yorkshire

pudding and gravy. I lost 9 pounds at my Weight Wise meeting

last week. So I was thrilled with that.

Things that I read this week, there is a form of treatment

where you get frozen to help eliminate cellulite, refresh your skin,

recharges your system. It is at some crazy temp and you are in a controlled

environment. The lasting effects are apparently temporary. It is supposed to help

with the brain too.....my theory is if I find minus 35 cold, I am not going any cooler than that,

I have to honestly admit than when I have come inside from being outside and cold,

I certainly don't check the cellulite on my legs or behind because you can't bend anyways,

and frankly at that point of the day if anyone else wants to tell me about the cellulite

well they better step away from the person resembling a walrus where the snow

and sweat have melded into two tusks of ice. As for my skin yes it is refreshed

and glowing bright cheery rosy red which could also resemble a tomotao with the

skinned peeled but I am going with refreshed. As to benefits to my brain,

absolutely because when I went by the mirror and saw myself scarf, toque, black

mascara running down my face, ice covering my scarf, hair in disaray what was sticking

from under the hat, big warm fuzzy socks, baggy sweat pants,

......it was like running into a brick wall and realizing,

Cinner your not all that and a bag of chips in this gear.

No wonder I never had any children, just saying..

One of my neighbors was outside shoveling too,

His glasses were frozen and all fogged up

so he could hardly see me I am sure,

I did think to myself I bet yah he can hardly see the snow,

he was not shoveling all the sidewalk either.

I thought to myself maybe he has froze his brain already.

We wished each other a Great Day,

proof we had both spent too much time outside.

I can't get out today, but hey means nobody

can get in either.

When I put my face close to the window and breath on it

I can draw happy faces.

Have you ever drawn a Happy Face and then

I did today then I thought now what,

Do you think it is possible to freeze your brain

and maybe just maybe its like when you eat ice cream

but it is one hundred times worse like when you

eat a hundred ice cream,

well that is how my head feels today,

full of big fluffy white stuff and I know

if I shake my head, everything will just fall into place

and I will have to be all grown up today,

so I am not going to shake it.

I will just sit here and watch the screen and

see if anybody shows up!

The Wind Blew Winter Right In!

I knew Winter was on its way when I was

in the mountains a week ago.

The ice had frozen over and you

can tell how windy it had been.

I had come home to no snow on the ground, but

as of last Thursday those days are gone until Spring..

Here in the city some courageous young girls

saved a horse and her foal that had walked out

onto thin ice. I heard it quickly on the news tonight.

If it was not for their fast thinking matters could of had

dire consequences.....Since Saturday evening I have slept

round the clock with some form of kick me on the butt virus.

Whooa down and out for the count, I can tell I am over it

because I am finally feeling rested and wide awake in the middle of the night.

I have an appointment at eight and nine in the morning,

so glad I will be able to make these,

I had a bone scan on Monday I had to cancel.

I was worried they were going to charge me a fee for cancelling

but they did not so I was relieved about that.

Anyway so sorry I was not around,

I guess you know your not well when

reading on the computer felt like hard work.

Back from my Visit!

Hi Everyone, Just back from a quick visit at my Mom

and sisters. I had an awesome time away.

One day we took a trip to the mountains.

I have to say it was a brisk windy day,

we had a wonderful time,

had lunch and sipped coffees in a little coffee bar,

shopped a little, looked more than shopped,

walked by the river.

It was so nice to be back there,

and walk we did,

I had to use my cane this time,

my husband, sister, mom and my brother in law,

were really good about me slowing them

down a bit.

I kept saying go on, go on,

but they would have no part of it.

And check out this great find.

There was some excitement!

They were there and the next they were gone.

There were a bunch more up higher in the trees,

you could hardly see them.

My little point and shoot managed to capture these,

Here is another one and the rest pretty much

were of their behinds running away.

It does my heart good knowing there is still

wildlife roaming around in those mountains.

The only other wildlife we saw was

A statue in someones back yard. It was really cool,

although you can not see it the clearest.

The yard from this house looks over

Can you imagine being able to walk here everyday.

I would be a much smaller version of myself

for sure, but little by little.

So we had to leave at the end of the day

and this is a pic of my brother in law,

whom either had too much fresh air,

too much walking, too much food,

or just too much fun.

Ahh the end of a very good day or was it,

Oh no we stopped for ice cream on the way

home. Then to my Moms by the fire and off to sleep.

We came back yesterday, so I will try to get around and visit

everyone soon.

I miss reading and visiting daily

when I am away,

but I so enjoy my family time.

Maybe I need to get a lap top,

One of my favorite fall photos,

and I will be there next week.

This past week I have been so blessed,

by the unexpected invitation to meet with cousins visiting,

to be surrounded by five lovely children under ten,

to have fun playing trucks with them,

to be with my family, to plan a trip to visit my Mom,

to hand out Halloween candy to children whom all made me smile.

to receive a beautiful handwritten thank you note in the mail,

to sit on my bench in the back yard and actually fell asleep

with both dogs, one on either side.

to be woken by one dog licking my face,

to be able to read all my favorite blogs,

to share, to love, to just be.

Somehow everything just feels right

today.

Hang on dear lilac leafs,

don't let the frost get you,

for when you fall to the ground,

we know that fall is through,

You gently let go

The branches are bare,

like aged arthritic hands

Many birds come and play over the winter months,

Especially the chickadees

I can spot them much easier

So I guess there is no reason,

to ask you to stay,

Rethinking My Priorities!

I love these doors for many reasons.

I look at them and I am reminded that life is about choices,

whether your day be good or bad,

or whether we even choose to come out behind those doors.

I worked for 23 years and then when I became ill with Cataplexy,

I became very isolated....Cataplexy is the loos of muscle control

usually triggered by strong emotions. My mostly have been triggered

by laughter. I am doing quite well with it at the moment,

for more info see my Cataplexy page. Because Cataplexy is a symptom

of Narcolepsy I have been prone to Excessive Day Time Sleepiness as well.

So due to this and not changing my lifestyle I have reached an all time

weight high. My problem is that I am not consisted with my efforts.

I know what I am doing wrong and what I should be doing to make

things right.

When I was working at 250 I could work twelve hour days,

no problem, socialize, was active, full of life.

And then when I got Cataplexy I lost all my independence.

I could not go out alone for I never knew when I would fall or how long

they episodes would last. I could not drive, hardly walk, to put one foot in front of

the other was almost impossible. So I learned to hide behind the doors of my house.

I know it sounds crazy, it was easier, it was safer,

Things have gotten better since my surgeries as far as health wise,

but the weight remains an issue.

When you read this tomorrow I will have made my way out of the house

by myself to something new.

Working a Weight Wise Program

to change my lifestyle before I need to make my decision about

various types of surgeries..

Over two years ago I watched my Dad die

due to heart failure and I vowed I would take care of my health.

That I would not be the one on that stretcher

way too early in life.

I have hid behind these walls, afraid to go out.

My husband has offered to take me,

I have told him no that I need to do this on my own.

I need to use the options that are available for me.

With the help of trained professionals we will set up a plan

for me to follow and work on.

You see you just don't go and have a gastric bypass done,

because if you have not worked on why you got to the way you did,

it won't change just because you had surgery.

Since I have been so isolated and safe in my home in the sense of

I am not afraid of falling, or cars backfiring, or being startled, or seeing

something funny that will trigger a spell.

I have to do everything I can to get back out there,

and the only way is to do these things on my own.

I have been called to this program twice before

and chickened out, yes I did,

but not this time.

..........

My husband thinks I don't need to change anything about me.

The man is in denial as to health issues that are slowly developing

because of my weight.

We will work through it,

Nurses, Dieticians, Doctors, Occupational Therapist,

Behavioralists, etc. I will be in the best hands I have

allowed myself to be and I think I would be

doing myself a diservice if I don't work my

hardest to make this happen.. I will be working

with the Dietician on a No Wheat Plan

as it has been very successful for a couple of friends of mine.

I don't want to talk much about this on my blog

but I did want to acknowledge that some things in life are not easy,

My main obstacle right now is getting out the front door

in the morning....

I do fit out the door and I don't want to hide away

behind these doors anymore.

I have to admit I will worry all night

but I know I will be just fine once I get there.

Besides if I am going to sky dive when I am 50,

I better work at this goal,

because I want a healthy life ahead of me.

This used to be a huge money making opportunity for the

young folks on our street.

This time of year there would be knocks on the door every

evening after school, of hopeful children

wanting to make some money.

I think this year they have all won lotteries

because not one has knocked,

either that or they are all on their play stations, etc,

or texting me Hey Lady, quit complaining,

Ha, I can still do my own.

I too have the technology,

My own two hands,

I'll show them,

I just won't be as fast as them.

Today should be the last of it as most are off the trees now.

This is the third time and I have more now than I have had.

I try to stay caught up with them,

but somehow every year they seem to get ahead of me.

They do make for beautiful carpets on the streets and sidewalks.

So today could you pray that a kid stops in

and wants to make some money.

well my adventure awaits,

What are the Odds It Would Go Down The Vent.

Sorry about the picture being crooked.

Such a happy face, always makes me smile.

I needed this ornament last night to remind me to breathe.

...........

so last night hubby picks me up after work to take

me to an information session at the hospital about

nutrition and the weight wise program.

No problem he had said, it was two hours and he was going

to stay with me and then we would go home.

So everything starts great, the info session was great, reinforced some things

and if not has motivated to get at my lifestyle change.

Hubby on the other hand, well I felt like he was just killing time.

Another fellow and he went out 3 times in the two hours for a smoke,

and the last time he said he would meet me at the truck when it was over.

.......

Under my breath I am thinking well he sure is not interested in what I am doing

or even the purpose why I was there.

So I was a little frustrated to say the least.

So I get to the truck, he has the lights on and he is trying to

fix his pager as this week he is on call with his work.

I asked him if he was having trouble,

yes he thinks it is broken and he can't get the top on.

okay so are you with me,

well here is where it went downhill.

Here let me have a look at it, I say.

He hands it to me, I look, I push down on the top,

and I kid you not it flies off hits the windshield,

drops to the dash and falls down into I think the heater.

I looked at him and said I did not mean to do that,

I'm sorry I said, and then I said come on you have to admit

that is kinda funny, I said what are the chances of that?

He was so annoyed with me,and I kept laughing,

and had about six cataplexy spells one after another,

and when that happens I can't speak or move or nothing,

but I kept thinking settle down, and the more worked up

he got the funnier it got to me.

So we get home, he is trying to get this piece out of the heater,

I say you will have to take the whole truck apart, there is no way

you are going to get that piece.

Look I need it he says, I'll get it,

So I being a good wife I say, I will go get you a flashlight.

He says I will get my own flashlight, me thinking what the heck is wrong with him.

So I go to the door and I don't have the keys,

and he is coming down the walkway,

he goes to open the door and he drops the key,

Yes you guessed it, I thought it was funny.

I felt my feet buckle from under me and down I went,

He is there saying Your going to be okay,

your tired and you have to stop laughing

because you keep having your attacks,

I could not say anything for about two minutes,

anyway we finally make it in the house and I say now

think of this calmly, just call one of the other guys

and see if they can turn on their pager until the morning

and if they get a call, call you and then you can go to work.

Oh yes that might work.

I asked him why he was so outta sorts and he says he was tired,

now here is where snarky wife comes in,

Oh your tired, do you think your the only one tired!

He glared at me and I thought to myself,

Okay that was'nt necessary.

I think if either of us could have reached a frying pan,

we may have used it.

Lol.

Needless to say it was an early night,

and at 6 am this morning he wakes

me up to say,

Honey if you get a chance can you

look for one of his keys that he thinks he dropped outside

last night.

I say sure but maybe it went down the heater in the truck too.

He looked at me and we both laughed.

I think it will be a better day!

So I go from wanting to hit him with a frying pan

to loving him again.

I guess it is only normal we can drive each other crazy,

or is it?

..............

I can just hear him telling the guys at work!

Terrific Tuesday

I love the fact that I have most mornings alone.

It is my time where I am alone with my thoughts

on life and living. I never feel lonely by myself

so I guess that is a good thing.

My neighbor lady made the above book

that I can use for journalling or for photos.

I thought it was very kind of her to give this to me.

One of the things I love today is

Purchased at the dollar store by Mr. Hubby

....spending a dollar knowing I would be happy.

I love that.

I love the fact that I am comfortable enough to show you what I really look like in the morning.

I have heard some woman say they have never let their husband see them without their makeup.

Not me, I wake up with my CPAP machine, hair in every direction,

mascara left from the night before, a space between my front teeth,

and a smile on my face, so it is a love me or leave me

kind of attitude.

HMMM....Maybe why hubby works so early!

OK OK how bout this. There now I am ready in case

any company stops by....yeah right.

I am playing today, alone time with paints and crayons,

and lots of craft ideas. It is going to be perfect.

Hey before I forget Did you hear about the 100 year old man that

ran a marathon. Talk about leading by example. Wow,

I was so proud of him, I think it is fantastic some of the goals

people set out for themselves. I am still working on twenty minutes

on the treadmill, but I am inspired to do more.

And talk about being inspired. Look at the fabulous

color right outside my door.

I tell you it makes my heart sing!

Monday Monday

Monday morning again,

There is the chill of winter in the air.

We spent some more time in the yard raking and playing with the dogs.

I should of had my camera out, we would get a huge pile of leaves

and then the puppy would nose her way through the leaves,

rolling in them, hiding, running through the yard to dive right back

in to them again. Even though she was messing up our progress,

it was worth the laughter she brought us for sure.

Thinking about turquoise paint for a project,

I just want to lose myself playing with paint,

nothing seems to sooth the mind as well for me.

I am in a good place right now,

except for bouts of insomnia.

I got booked for another

Sleep Study. I am so used to them now, no big deal.

Hubby is off today so may get out of the house

for a bit.

These Boots Were Made For Walking

These boots I found on Pinterest, yes that is where I have been.

Now every now and then you find something that screams your name

unfortunately no it was not my husband in the throws of passion,

it was this pair of boots. If I were a pair of boots these would be them,

fun loving, artsy fartsy, joyful, flower child, living with attitude,

rockin out, getting down, diva baby.....getting my groove on

walking down the street. Would I strut, yes probably like a chicken,

but I would know in those boots I was all that and a bag of chips.

Do I worry about the rest of the outfit no because those are

some draw me some attention my way boots.

Slapped by a piece of reality,

A Bit Of Randomness, Colorful World.

A Terrific Tuesday Morning To You!

We had a beautiful Thanksgiving Weekend here in Canada.

The leaves continue changing every day,

on one of the streets that has become very popular

for taking photographs vehicles were parked and portraits were

being taken. Makes for a lovely backdrop for sure.

We met a very nice fellow at breakfast Saturday.

Everyone was talking about such a beautiful day and going for a drive.

I was so happy for the fellow that owned this car, it was so apparent

that one of his dreams had come true. He beamed as others commented

on it and I told him how beautiful it was and what a great day for a drive.

I told him I would much rather be riding in his car than our truck.

No trades were negotiated. ha, can't say I blame him.

My MIL brought over a beautiful plant, the color just made me happy.

We had a great meal, I ate too much and I liked it. Ha!

These characters got some treats too, and apparently had a hard

day because when I finished the dishes they were resting.

Such Happy Dogs.

I see a face of a man with glasses and a beard

right beside the sun, and then there is a face on the other side of him

and the actual sun looks like a face.

My Hubby can't see a thing and believes I have been sipping the sauce.

Would that be Cranberries. Ha.

The rest of the weekend had us raking leaves, getting ready for that

Winter thing, watching movies, went for a walk, visited with friends.

It was so peaceful and I had so much to be thankful for.

One was for the photo of the rainbow my hubby had take on

Friday morning that he showed me last night.

I wish I could have seen it, We don't get rainbows too often this time of year.

So yes it was a colorful weekend,

I am thankful for my past that has led me to the present

where I feel peaceful and loved.

Today is the first day in two weeks that I feel

good again since my cold....but not so good

This weekend is our Canadian Thanksgiving holiday.

A few family members will be here on my hubbies side.

i have been held hostage by a cold.

Happy Monday Morning to Everyone.

I have been fighting a cold for three weeks now,

and it finally settled in on Friday.

I had to cancel an outing on Saturday to

MIL's, sent hubby he did yard work and

had a steak supper, fresh baked apple pie.

Other family members showed up too.

I stayed home and slept and ached and ached

some more. I did not want even any chicken noodle soup.

So pretty much slept around the clock,

think today will be one of those days.

So I can't tell you I am having one of my very best days,

but I can say this,

I am thankful for the furnace running,

I am thankful for a hot shower,

I am thankful for a comfortable bed,

Today I am thankful just to rest.

I am thankful for fuzzy slippers

and and so very grateful for this box of kleenex.

And I am thankful for all of you.

Mutual Love and Respect!

I watched as they walked side by side,

holding hands. The elderly man had a dignified demeanor about him.

His hands were those of a hard working man weathered and worn

and bent with arthritis. One of his hands rested on the shoulder of the other

in what seemed a protective, yet encouraging matter. Should we find a bench

to sit on Grandpa the boy inquired. Well sure if you need a rest the Grandfather

replied. I smiled to myself knowing that they both knew whom really needed to rest.

Out of respect and love not a word was mentioned. They made their way to the

first bench down the way from which I had come. After a few moments I looked

behind me and I could see them sitting and talking. It was a beautiful moment

for me. It reminded me of all we can learn from one another, of how much we

all have to offer each other. Their love was more apparent than the

changing colors on the trees, and every season their bond would grow

stronger. I left knowing there was somewhere I needed to be.

I knocked on the door, and I was greeted with the warmest smile,

the kindest blue eyes, the sexiest deepest voice, strong working man hands

that guided me inside. I was home where I was loved and I loved.

I reached for his hand.

Mission Accomplished For Today.. Which was Yesterday!

Good Morning Everyone,

I had two buds on my hibiscus plant yesterday morning,

I sat there drinking coffee thinking about what a beautiful day it was going to be.

Hubby had a day off and had already taken the puppy in to be spayed.

So someone was not going to have a good day.

Anyway Hubby came home with breakfast, I had a 230 Dr's appointment

and we decided we would go for a drive and go down by the river before the appointment.

The fall colors were wonderful, there were lots of people out

having picnics, holding hands, some smooching, construction workers

planting more trees and happiness was in the air.

A few times the clouds rolled in but were beautiful too,

they did not stay long anyway.

This looked like such fun, it's one of those times you just want to say

hey, over here, can I play too. lol.

Not today.

So we walked and posed and walked some more.

Note to self, much easier downhill than walking uphill.

By the time I made my way back to the truck I was a little unsteady on my feet,

nothing like overdoing it before my appointment.

Anyway we get to the hospital, hubby finds parking,

he offers to let me off at the door. Oh no we have plenty of time I say.

We walk to the main doors, down one long corridor, only two more to go

and I am thinking to myself, I am not going to make it there today,

My legs are like rubber and I think just keep going.

Now I kid you not, a lady about my age passes me,

she is wearing shorts and had two steel legs,

my hubby squeezed my hand,

the unspoken word that if she had the determination

to learn to walk with no legs,

I better just buck it up and keep doing what I needed to.

I have thought about her on and off since yesterday

wondering if she knew what a hero she is.

Did God put her purposely in my path for me to see her strength.

I think so. I was reminded how we all fight our own battles,

but yet we take and give strength from and to others.

I made it to the doctors and all went well,

sending me for followup sleep study.

And down the long 3 corridors and down

the long street to the truck.

When I got in the truck,

I breathed a sigh of relief,

Hubby said, "You really did good honey"

I thought yes I usually am only able to make it to the doctors

and not able to do anything else.

It really was a good day.

And when Hubby brought home our little puppy

with the saddest eyes wearing one of those cones on her head

well my heart just melted.

I wonder what she would think if she knew to make her feel so good

we paid $435.00 .

It seems like an insane amount of money,

I even phoned around,

we ended up taking her to our vet as there was not much difference

between places....I am just glad our little puppy is not a child I have to put through college.

Today at the computer desk,

I am watching the wind blow the leaves down,

swirling and twirling and just for a moment

I thought how many bags there will be again this year,

Then I thought enjoy the moment,

enjoy the beauty,

stay in the present,

and I took a deep breath.

Lately I catch myself saying how beautiful everything is.

I must sound like a crack pot but I really am feeling

this wonderful time in my life.

I started my day today

by doing Tai Chi

which I have been a huge fan of.

She is so beautiful to watch, she really is an artist at what she does,

I watch her and do this but I am about as graceful as an elephant

in a china shop.

I am the girl that will trip over my own two feet,

and that is without even thinking what the Cataplexy can do for me.

It will take more than me not being graceful

to give up on something I really like to do.

You will be surprised at how good you can feel after doing Tai Chi.

If you have not tried it I encourage you to do so.

Today is my Birthday.

Whoo Hooo
48 years old.
Hubby came home with roses yesterday.
They are beautiful.
We are going to barbecue steaks tonight
when he gets home from work.
It's gonna be a good good day.

I am off to enjoy it.

Saturday seems like a good day to enjoy the wonderful weather,

I will be sitting on my bench in my yard

enjoying the solitude, the warmth on my bones.

Have you ever sat and watched the leaves fall,

not quickly but with real interest,

to see them swirl and float and then be swept up

and swooped away, the moment fleeting,

falling slowly, slowly to the ground.

Soon they will crunch beneath our feet as we rake them into piles.

I always find this time of year amazing, what a treat we get to see the

colors change, the world our canvas, ever changing,

delighted and honored I enjoy the gift.

Under my breath I say Thank you.

The Horse Pearl, Adoption, and a Birthday............

Just a warning, you may find these pictures disturbing,

they about broke my heart.

This horrible story of Pearl an abused horse

with a golf ball size hole below her eyes

due to abuse and an infection does end up having a happy ending.

Pearl was operated on in 2010 to close the whole

but it burst open and the choice for another operation

was not an option as they believed she had about a 50 per cent

chance of making it.

Shown on the news this week Pearl was adopted out to a family,

the young teenage girls believe that Pearl picked them,

that somehow they all seem to be a perfect fit.

So Pearl goes to a new home and

ten more horses have just gone to the rescue

because of abuse and neglect.

I hope too for happy endings for these horses.

It s sad that Gods creatures go through such horrible abuse,

not just animals but also children, elderly, the sick, etc.

All the whole world needs is love and empathy and understanding

for one another. To do the right thing, I don't think it gets any

easier than that, At this point I remain hopeful that love and

goodness will always prevail. that is my prayer today.

on a brighter note we are having

the most amazing fall,

it is supposed to be 26 degrees which is hot for this time

of the year. I will be loving me some sun for sure.

This weekend I am turning 48.

I feel better than I have in 10 years.

I am on my way to a much healthier me

It is a wonderful age to be.

I am not looking for anyones approval

anymore, as I have my own

and it feels good!

The Beauty of The Sunflower

How many eyes have passed a field of sunflowers,

glancing quickly, just a fleeting moment, and then

it was gone, not another thought given.

Time too consumed by lifes daily beckonings

of tasks, chores, obligations.

And then one day you back up your car,

and you get out to stretch your legs,

and you finally see The Sunflower

as you have never seen it before,

the bright beam of hope stoically standing

for you at this very moment,

twisting and turning to the suns rays

so that they can grow as high and as far

as they want too before the season changes

and they are plucked from the ground.

The sun so high in the sky gleaming right now,

waiting for you to recognize

They meant a lot to me. The only trouble I am having on blogger

is I am unable to leave comments on my own blog.

Go figure, apparently a few others are having the same issues.

Today I was very grateful for all our blessings,

Walked outside today and was met by

yesterdays newspaper shredded into a thousand pieces,

also met by the guilty eyes of our puppy,

I had just watched the movie,

Marley and Me last week with my family

and had bawled like a baby, so I reminded myself

that at least the puppy had fun ripping the paper,

I think some good training is in store for sure

now that I have more energy and am feeling

better since my surgeries.

........................

Got caught up on a bit of house work.

Notice I said a bit....lol.

Other than that it was an uneventful day,

Hubby goes back to work tomorrow morning,

So organization is my plan for the week,

that and no procrastinating.

Broken Trees and Falling Blogs.

My other blog, Me My Four Chins and I

no longer exists due to suspected Malware

being sent by another blogger to me.

So I deleted my blog, not sure what else I was to do,

so I kind of feel like I lost a part of me,

and I was not able to let some of my followers know

that I have just vanished. I had emailed blogger but

have had no contact from them as of yet.

Anyway enough of that, this was and will remain my main

blog. Everything here has none of the same problems,

Thank goodness because I would not want to lose

everything here either.

Other than that I arrived safely at home yesterday,

and oh what a feeling to walk in here and feel the peace

come over me. It was like watching the sun setting at

night ready for a peaceful sleep, and that I did for

almost ten hours. Today I woke up not feeling

as stiff and sore as I had last week. I tried to help

doing odd jobs at the renovation of my sisters house

to get my Mom into her place.

Another week, just waiting for the contractors to get

the job finished, then we will get Mom moved in.

She is as happy as a lark and that gives me so much peace too.

this is one of my favorite fall photos.

Theses are my two sisters children.

They are all about ten years older now.

It is so good to see them all happy and playing.

They often talk about this memory.

The girl is engaged to a lovely fellow from Mexico,

Her brother is married to a lovely lady.

The next young man is now 18

and his brother is 13.

One day he may feel we are not as annoying

as he believes we all are right now.

He actually told me I was a

Technology hating Aunt.

I stopped dead in my tracks.

we were both laughing, and the chase was on.

then he told me he was not worried because

he can walk faster than I can run.

LOL

............

my hubby came to spend a few days with the family.

I can not tell you how wonderful it is to have Mom around us.

About another week before all is finished.

I think it will be perfect.

Any problems I had with my blog I believe are over.

It is going to be a hard week,

we are moving my Mom off of the family farm.

Even though she is excited I know she will be filled with mixed

emotions. she did say tonight she can hardly wait to get

to her new home. That felt kind of odd for a moment to me,

but sometimes you have to close a door to get to a better one.

along this journey!
